Responsibilities
The Sioux Center Police Department provides coverage 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Its seven full-time officers and two reserve officers are committed to providing a safe place for citizens and are assigned many duties including:
- Enforcing laws and ordinances
- Preventing and detecting criminal activity
- Protecting life and property
- Providing other non-law enforcement services that include:
Training
To ensure utmost safety and awareness, all officers are required to complete in-service training each year as well as specialized training in areas including:
- Defensive tactics
- Firearms
- Legal updates
- Simulated firearms
- Tasers
Important Reminder: House Numbers
Please make sure your house is clearly marked with numbers that are well-lit at night. This helps both police and fire crews find your house quickly in an emergency.

No, unless in case of emergency. Otherwise, the Sioux Center Police Department will assist you in obtaining the services necessary, such as a certified locksmith, to unlock your vehicle.
- How long do I have to renew my Iowa driver’s license?

Residents needing to renew their driver’s license have 30 days before and 60 days after their birthday to renew. Residents moving to Iowa from another state have 30 days to obtain an Iowa driver’s license and Iowa license plates from the Sioux County Treasurer's Office in Orange City.
