Sioux Center Arts is thrilled to announce the summer community musical production: Roger and Hammerstein's beloved classic, The Sound of Music, June 5-8, 2024.
“Featuring a treasure trove of cherished songs, this musical masterpiece promises an unforgettable journey - don't miss your opportunity to be a part of the magic!” Sioux Center Arts Director Cailan Matthews said. “We are casting all ages!”
Auditions for ages 5 through adult will be held at the shelter house at Children's Park:
January 30, 7-9 p.m. – adults, 21+
February 1, 7-9 p.m. – adults, 21+
February 3, 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m. & 1-3 p.m. - children and adults:
The Sound of Music will be directed by Directed by Leanne Bonnecroy. The musical is set in 1938 in Austria as political tensions mount, following the story of a governess sent to care for the seven children of a widowed naval captain. Her kindness and love for music capture the hearts of the children and ultimately the captain. When Nazi Germany annexes Austria, the captain stands against the move and he and his family find themselves facing grave danger and relying once again on their love for music.
