SCMU Delivers Energy-Saving Rebate

Group of people hold large check

Sioux Center Municipal Utilities recently presented Sioux Center Health $26,786.38 in rebates for choosing energy-saving lighting and controls in their Crown Pointe Estates project.

The energy rebates are part of the Bright Energy Solutions program, which offers cash incentives to business and residential energy customers of Sioux Center Municipal Utilities and other community-owned utilities who chose qualifying energy-efficient equipment.

“Sioux Center Health chose energy-efficient lighting, HVAC equipment and VFDs for their senior living campus that will help reduce their utility consumption, which helps lower the community’s peak demand,” said Joel Gonzalez, who administers the Bright Energy Solutions program at Sioux Center Municipal Utilities. “Their choices will save energy and money for Sioux Center Health and also help keep energy costs lower for the community.”

Sioux Center Health selected the energy-saving fixtures and equipment and applied for the rebates through Sioux Center Municipal Utilities.

“As we continue to grow as an organization we want to be as responsible and efficient as possible,” Sioux Center Health CEO Cory Nelson said. “Using energy-efficient lighting and controls is one part of that process.”

Energy-saving rebates are available to residents and businesses whose power is supplied by Sioux Center Municipal Utilities. These incentives are designed to help customers of member utilities and their utilities reduce electric energy costs and operate more efficiently. Information on available rebates is online at www.siouxcenter.org/rebates.

Sioux Center Municipal Utilities provides power to more than 2,681 customers and is one of 61 members of wholesale power provider Missouri River Energy Services, which offers the Bright Energy Solutions energy-efficiency incentive program
