Development Agreement Promotes Growth, Jobs

Workers work at construction site

The City is offering a development agreement promoting a company’s significant investment in Sioux Center. New Tec, an area equipment dealer and remanufacturing company, is planning to relocate to Sioux Center and expand their operations, services and employment base.

“New Tec will grow the quality jobs in our community and region, serve the area equipment needs, invest in the community, and bring people to shop, work, and live here,” said Sioux Center Development Director Dennis Dokter.

New Tec has purchased a property in Sioux Center’s commercial area, north of 22nd Street and Rent-All, and the company is planning a 40,000-square-foot addition and remodel of the existing 7,400-square-foot facility there. The completed project will be home to New Tec’s administrative offices, sales, parts and inventory, and re-manufacturing of equipment, bringing these all under one roof. New Tec’s work has begun at the site, with the company anticipating being in the Sioux Center location by early 2023.

The City of Sioux Center’s economic development incentive agreement for the project includes a five-year sliding scale partial property tax abatement and a grant for creating and retaining high quality manufacturing jobs.

“We anticipate growth opportunities with New Tec,” Dokter said. “It’s a high-quality, well-run and well-respected company. New Tec was started locally, has local ownership and management, and the dollars stay local.”
