Free Sioux Center App Offers Quick Access to Local Life

A quick connection to local info, events, updates, notifications, and more is in the palm of your hand with the new Sioux Center mobile app.

The free new app, launched by the City of Sioux Center and Sioux Center Municipal Utilities, gives users immediate access to city and utility information, including your utility account, a community-wide calendar, city council agendas and minutes, recreation options, and more.

“We are always looking for good ways to connect people with Sioux Center information and help them enjoy what Sioux Center has to offer,” said City Finance Director Darryl Ten Pas “This app is great way for people to access the community as a whole, including local utilities and city government.”

Residents and visitors can sign up for personalized notifications or report a concern with a few taps of their fingers. The app includes a local business directory and business owners and organization leaders can claim their business to add more details. Maps of recreation trail routes, parks, and even recycling and trash information are available on the app as well.

Sioux Center Municipal Utility customers can register and log in to their utility account within the Sioux Center app. This feature allows customers to view their current and past statements, pay bills, and see monthly utility usage.

“When you download the app, we encourage our utility customers to log in to really use all the app has to offer,” Ten Pas said. “They’ll be prompted right away to create a utility account login or use their login if they’ve already made one online or through our utility app.”

Some customers have already used a utility app to access their Sioux Center utility account, and that previous app is being rolled into the Sioux Center app.

The Sioux Center app is available in the App Store and Google Play under “Sioux Center.” For more information on logging in to a utility account, visit www.siouxcenter.org/appinfo
