In 2006 Sioux Center Land Development (SCLD) began work on its largest project to date. SCLD purchased 366 acres on the south edge of Sioux Center for The Ridge, a development project which includes an 18 hole championship golf course, 250 residential home lots, and a 40 acre commercial site.
The Ridge golf course opened for play in spring 2009. The commercial area is home to a Holiday Inn Express which opened in May 2007 and Center Fresh Eggs corporate office. The remaining commercial area will be developed as needed.
Industrial Lots A, B, C
SCLD acquired and developed 150 acres on the north end of Sioux Center. Industrial Parks A & B include commercial and industrial lots only. Industrial Park C was developed into residential single family housing as well as commercial and industrial lots.
When Sioux Center was in need of a family restaurant, SCLD attracted Country Kitchen to open in the original Holland House restaurant building. SCLD eventually sold the building to Family Table Restaurant, now called Sioux County Livestock, which has filled a need in the community.
