The City of Sioux Center is continuing to pursue improvements to the community’s Highway 75 corridor.
City staff members are in the process of requesting that Highway 75 improvements be placed on the Iowa DOT’s next five-year construction plan. Being listed on that plan would mean Sioux Center would be placed on the schedule for future DOT funding.
The proposed improvements are to make the Highway an enhanced four-lane corridor with medians and a central turning lane.
“Highway 75 in Sioux Center serves both local and highway travelers. Improving its ability to handle vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely is a priority for us, especially as Sioux Center continues to grow,” said Sioux Center Utilities Manager Murray Hulstein said. “We’d like to see the roadway function better and add to the attractive and safe character of Sioux Center.”
