Plans for Sioux Center’s newest commercial development park are taking shape.
The proposed layout of the new development area in northeast Sioux Center includes 23 lots, ranging in size from .6 to 1.5 acres. The Sioux Center City Council will decide whether to approve that plat and rezoning of the area to highway commercial after a public hearing at the June 13 council meeting.
“We are seeing additional demand and need for commercial-type lots in the community. The creation of a variety of lot sizes will give developers many options and development opportunities in this highway commercial development,” said City Manager Scott Wynja.
At the June 13 meeting, the council will also consider a request from Sioux Center Land Development, the developer of the land, for incentives to construct the streets and storm sewer in this commercial park.
“The opening of the second phase of the highway commercial development is just another great opportunity to continue with community growth. The City of Sioux Center in partnership with Sioux Center Land Development continues to support our community’s mission of progress through cooperation,” Wynja said.
