Sioux Center Municipal Utilities is upgrading the water main along 2nd Ave. SW to improve the community’s water service.
Traffic through this area will be impacted during construction.
The cast iron water main on 2nd Ave. SW from 2nd Street to 9th Street SW, which has experienced several leaks in recent years, will be replaced with a larger PVC main.
This project will complete a 12-inch line connecting Sioux Center’s two water towers to improve flow throughout the community.
The new water pipes will be placed under the roadway.
This street will mainly be open for local traffic during construction. We suggest through traffic find an alternate route for your convenience.
A 1 1/2-block segment of water main on 7th Street SW will also be replaced and improved as part of this project.
JR Construction, of Sioux Center, will be completing the project.
